Security issues, new account and Ashley Ryan

Hiya

As some of you may know, I used to have a blog under the same title.....more about that under the "Read more" part.....in the meantime......

shock upon shocks, I have started writing properly. I have had a lot of teething problems as some of you will know but I have officially taken an old draft of my first ever Ashley Ryan novel (prequel to two short stories I wrote in the past):

"The Kelpie" - as part of the Scarlet Whispers (Amazon.co.uk link avaialble on ebook and print)

"The Longest Night" - sequel to "The Kelpie" and can be found in Book 3 of the Legends of the Monster Hunter series (Amazon.co.uk link avail on ebook or print. This book is also available on Kindle Unlimited)

I am taking my old draft of the original novel and giving it a complete revamp, forcing in filler scenes to make it flow better (the original story was just a collection of the bigger important scenes with no fillers to link them and make it flow better). I am writing the story in parts at the moment, ending the part after one of my original big scenes. One of the lovely friends is reading the story and making comments as I go along. I hope to have Part 2 finished by tonight so I better get cracking.

Have a lovely sunny Sunday, peeps!

Update 19:30 - Part 2 is finally donw....hooray!!! Part 3 is going to be difficult as there is a lot to write to scratch before the next written down moment....eeek!!! I have also got permission to republish my short story "The Longest Night" along with this novel. Asked for permission in relation to "The Kelpie" so who knows?

Update 22:05 - Got permission to revise "The Kelpie". Sweet. Mkaing notes for Part 3 as this is where the plot REALLY begins and I am liking what I got. How it all comes out on the paper though is a different matter.

However, a few weeks, my Paypal was hacked. I got my money back (foiund out money was gone on Friday, and reported it and I got the money back between the following Monday and Tuesday), changed my passwords etc. However, what really scared me was 2 things:

a) Despite some dick spending £270 on game keys using my bank card and then my credit card (seriously, I looked on my account and it showed that after a number of transactions done on my bank card, one failed and then the bastards started on my credit card), I did not get ONE EMAIL automatic from Paypal. When I buy something from ebay or buy an extra for a Facebook game (yes! yes! I know!), I get an email confirming the Paypal amount. I didn't get one...bastards!!!

Anyway, I put that behind me. I thought I was secure until:

2) A few days later, emails start coming through on my Yahoo account saying this is confirmation I had been buying these items and the address were fake. I mean they had the first line of my address but then they put the wrong town and postcode and the wrong name. Now I have had my Paypal since late 2002/early 2003 and I have changed email addresses from time to time (the last one was because back in 2014, this dickhead (who will remain anonymous) kept emailing me to be his friend and when I said no, he'd get abusive but then a while later, he'd do it again under another email addresses so I changed emails altogether). So anyway, I looked back on some old email accounts that I had used for several years and found similar notifications on 5 of my email addresses, two I have NEVER used for Paypal and what's creepier is that one of the order notes stated a postal address I had not lived in for 3 YEARS!!! I looked at my old Gmail account and some dick in Nottingham I think had logged into my account on the night this morning went out of my account.

So after contacting Action Fraud, I created a new email, moved a lot of accounts over to there, created new indecipherable passwords using Last Pass (fantastic program to use by the way!) and now I am down to two email address: one for my personal and blogging stuff and one for my work-related stuff)
